Planet Zero is a concept album by Shinedown that imagines a dystopian future where society has become so divided and intolerant that independent thought is effectively controlled. Rather than telling one continuous story, the album uses interconnected songs and spoken interludes to explore themes like censorship, social media, political polarization, mental health, media influence, and the loss of empathy. The fictional AI character Cyren acts as the voice of this authoritarian world, deciding what is and isn't acceptable.
